Halo Combat Evolved 10-Year anniversary

I’m sitting here at my desk with a little more than an hour to go before Halo C.E. 10 year anniversary is released.  I plan to hit the local GameStop shop to snag me a $40 copy of a game that I already bought 10 years ago for about the same price.  So, I ponder this event and wonder a few things.

Halo Combat Evolved 10-Year anniversary

1.  Why hasn’t the Federal Reserve’s nasty money printing habits inflated the dollar beyond the point that I can afford this game?  2.  Why am I buying a game that I virtually already own, except the new version is purportedly pumped up to High Def and the campaign sugar covered with eye-candy coated sparkling delight?  Lastly,  will Halosecrets.com become flooded with seekers of secrets and tricks like it did so man years ago?

I hope to re-engage the one and only game that captivated my deepest imagination and propelled me into a life of poverty and hopelessness for playing the game like a crack addict.  We’ll see you in the funny pages.

A money grab game release that left many players limp.  This dark, short,  gimmicky Halo game went bland fast.  Not a lot of good came from this one.  Some think “Firefight” was the strong point of the game.   halo odst

Looks like it’s coming–HALO 4!  Bungie called it quits, but 343 Industries is picking up where Bungie left off.  The Halo brand is still under ownership by Microsoft. We’ll see how well it turns out.

Halo 4 coming out 2012

Halo 3 continued the to meet fan expectation with it’s epic campaign sequences.  Bungie

halo 3

listened to a lot of what the fans asked for.  They crammed a lot of goodies into Halo 3 and wrapped it up in a pleasing package.  Yet something was still off  compared to Halo C.E. (Halo 1).   It wasn’t the lack of graphical pleasure.  It wasn’t the lack of a story, although Bungie has been known for horrible story telling.  There just wasn’t the innocence of the original.

Some argue the perspective of “Change and deal with it”.  But true Halo fans became disenchanted and just wanted wanted the same feel as the first game.

After all, Bungie had no clue how attached gamers would become to their first major release.  They knew it was good, but they stumbled across something magical, and mostly by accident.  Repeating the magic in the follow-up games proved touch especially with the immense pressure to out do the prior release.  But fans ultimately embrace Halo 3 and the rest is history.

Halo 2 is secret filled glitch festival with many tricks to be performed.  Paul and KINGHALO! have explored every corner of the game to bring you this long, 10 minute video titled “Sum of All Secrets”.  You tube yanked the audio track but it’s still worth a look.  Enjoy the video.

Halo Combat Evolved 10 year anniversary

Wow, I never thought I’d see the day.  The best game of all time just got a makeover.  I can’t wait to play Halo Combat Evolved, 10 year anniversary edition.  Wow, that’s a mouth full.  Not a whole lot of information is available yet, but we hope the same old secrets and tricks still work in the new edition.  I suspect they will, I mean after all that’s much of what made Halo C.E. so appealing to play–the unlimited secrets and tricks to be explored.  Let’s hope this game is all we’ve been waiting for.  The sweet multiplayer maps of the original would be incredibly awesome to do battle on online.

This was created back in the good ol days of Halo 1.  The tricksters made this fun little vid many moons ago after the hours upon hours of battling in the gulch.  It’s one thing that KingHalo would always say; “There’s always a way in” well in this case he meant out, way out!, Halo 1′s Blood Gulch is what he was referring to.  He would always call me up with new tricks and a new way out of the map, we thought we should make some videos about these tricks and share them with our fellow halo 1 players and that’s basically where the site came from as well, our passion for defying the system.  I don’t think that YouTube was even around the time we made this video. The idea of this video is that someone is up late, bored, doesn’t know what to do, not tired and watching infomercials.  Halo Secrets suddenly takes over their cable box and displays to them what we (the tricksters)were up to that very moment.  Set to the Rasmus, a very cool Finnish rock band formed in Helsinki, check them out as well.  This video received a pretty good review by the fellas over at halo.bungie.org back in 04, so we thank them for that.
